Rebooting a BlackBerry Bold, or any other BlackBerry smartphone, entails completely shutting down the device in case any trouble is encountered when in operation. The two ways to reboot a BlackBerry Bold are referred to as doing a hard reset and a soft reset. Neither way will result in any loss of data to your smartphone, but both may help resolve issues experienced with the phone.
- 1Perform a soft reset on the BlackBerry Bold by pressing down and holding the ALT key.
- 2While keeping the ALT key held down, press down the right shift button with another finger. The right shift button is the one that capitalizes letters and is labeled with an up arrow.
- 3Press the Delete button with a third finger while still holding down the other two. The screen will then reset.
- 4Perform a hard reset on the phone if the soft reset does not work. Remove the back plate of the BlackBerry Bold and take out the battery. Leave it out for a few seconds, reinsert it and turn the BlackBerry Bold back on.
